Healthy Pumpkin Smoothie

This healthy pumpkin smoothie is creamy and smooth. The consistency is more like a milk shake, which I love because I feel like I’m eating dessert instead of a healthy smoothie. I’ve included two versions, a chocolate option for the mommas and a regular one for the babies but they are both great and make for a quick fall recipe.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin is full of beta-carotene, vitamin C, vitamin E, and fiber. It has been shown to reduce aging and is beneficial for your eyes, and immune and digestive systems. In a previous post I made another pumpkin recipe, pumpkin lasagna. In that post I go into a little more detail about the benefits of pumpkin for you and your family.

Recipe Notes

There are a couple of ingredients in this healthy pumpkin smoothie recipe, that you could change. You can swap the almond milk for water or another milk alternative you like and you can swap the cinnamon for pumpkin pie spice. When I make this pumpkin smoothie I like to mix in the cacao powder after I’ve served some to my son. Cacao powder is full of antioxidants but it also has caffeine. Since caffeine has been shown to have a negative impact on the development of children, I try my best to avoid it in my little one's diet.
