Salmon Benefits

Salmon is full of nutrients and includes lots of healthy fats. It includes nutrients like selenium that are beneficial for your thyroid gland and Omega-3 healthy fats that keep your brain and body functioning properly. I would always prefer fresh but canned, from a well-trusted brand, can be a good and cheaper option too. Other nutrients found in salmon include B6, B12, potassium, protein, and antioxidants. When you are choosing salmon, whether canned or fresh make sure to look for wild caught.

Salmon Patty Ingredients

This recipe is so simple because it includes very basic ingredients. I already had all of them in my pantry and they are staples for lots of our meals. All you will need for the salmon patty recipe is a can of wild-caught salmon, eggs, onion, lemon juice, parsley, seasonings, salt and pepper and oil for the pan. Pro tip, the smaller you cut the onions the better the salmon patties will stay together.

Salmon Patties

These crispy and healthy salmon patties have all the warm, nostalgic feels.

Ingredients

  • 1 can wild caught salmon
  • 1/2 cup organic panko bread crumbs
  • 2 pasture-raised eggs
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 Tablespoon, roughly chopped fresh organic parsley
  • 1 teaspoon organic garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon organic smoked paprika
  • Juice from half an organic lemon
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Avocado oil for the pan

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over low/medium heat.
  2. Combine all ingredients together in a large bowl until combined.
  3. Use your hands to shape salmon patties and place them gently into the pan. I like to just use the palm of my hand as a reference for size but you can make them whatever size you would like.
  4. Allow to cook for 5-10 minutes on each side, until browned.
  5. Top with sriracha if desired and enjoy!
